Driftwood sculptures & homewares
Elements of each unique piece have been scavenged from the Jurassic coastline. In using both natural and recycled materials, some irregularities may be found. This is intended to be part of its charm and not a fault.

I have always been creative, as a child I was diagnosed as dyslexic, this just led me to consider myself as wired differently. Leaving school, I trained as a motor mechanic. Over the years I expressed my thoughts in many forms, from chef (level 3 diploma) to creative writing (Open University level 3, I have also been published a few times). I spent time as a house husband messing about with decoupaging both small and large items of furniture, & helping the family budget by making gifts for friends & family.
I'm a few years into finding the medium of driftwood. I enjoy listening to each piece, as it fits together in the sculpture I have in my minds eye.
I find the wood so tactile & warm. I can look at an item & see how I could do it differently, this leads to an abstract feel to my creations.

I was privileged to be Phil's Pick on Grayson's Art Club, season 3 Ep:5 original air date 14th April 2022.
It is very surreal hearing & seeing yourself on TV, the day of filming seems so long ago, the segment of Phil's pick sees me chatting to Philippa as we pick up driftwood on Charmouth beach early morning one damp-ish Thursday. Then back to my Chinnock workshop to continue our chat & help Philippa make a small sculpture.
To watch, click on picture sign-up my be required.
Phillippa's pick is 26:30 into Ep:5 lasting 3.21 minutes
